When I think of Australia, I think of dry areas. And yes, Australia is not dry everywhere.
On our recent trip to NSW, Victoria, SA, and Western Australia, we saw what happens when a place gets too much water. We had rain every single day and it was really cold.
In NSW we saw crops that stood in the water, drowning. The Murray River had the most water in years and they expected even more water! While we were there, there were flood warnings and about 12 towns were affected, people were warned to evacuate their homes. Thank Heavens that we were always safe. A farmer told me that last year they couldn’t harvest their crops because they didn’t have enough rains, this year their crops are drowning.
In Adelaide, we saw the most extreme storm in 50 years and a power outage of nearly 12 hours.
As a farmer, water is one of our most important commodities. Water brings life. Without water, we can’t live.
